| Choose Life of North Alabama can answer your
questions regarding lovingly placing your baby for adoption
and offer you support as you make your decisions. Adoption is
a positive choice for women, their children, and their families.
We are not a licensed adoption agency but we do refer our clients
to well-respected agencies here in Alabama. We help the client
consider adoption, answer questions, and refer to the right
people. We also offer peer support and counseling so that our
clients will not feel alone when making such an important choice.
Choose Life also offers training on how to counsel adoption
to other agencies that regularly work with pregnant women. We
have a staff member trained through the Infant Adoption Awareness
Training Program (IAATP) who can organize a one-day adoption
liaison training for your organization. In 2000, the United
States Congress recognized the tremendous need to provide accurate,
complete, and current adoption information to pregnant women
facing unintended pregnancies. The U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services then awarded a grant to the National Council
for Adoption who implemented the Infant Adoption Awareness Training
Program.
